How did you hear about the Modern Dickens Project?

Your File Upload

Any author may submit chapters for consideration prior to midnight on the 21st of each month. Writers DO NOT need to live in Iowa to be eligible, although the story that is being submitted must be distinctively Iowan.  While the final product will be edited, it is recommended that authors submit a work that is representative of their skills and abilities when accounting for the significant time constraints of the contest.
What do I need to submit?

A chapter of no more than 10,000 words that is in keeping with the tone, style, and general theme of all previous chapters.

You may title your chapter, but please DO NOT put your name on the manuscript or in the file name – we will identify the file as your work using the details you enter into the submit form.

Writers should adhere to standard manuscript formatting: Double-spaced, Times New Roman, 12 point font, 1-1 1/2 in. margins, page numbers in top right hand corner, chapter heading clearly identified at top of first page.

By submitting your work to The Modern Dickens Project, while retaining your copyright to the submitted and edited material, you are allowing The Modern Dickens Project to use the submission at its discretion for the purpose of furthering the goals of The Modern Dickens Project.  All uses of your work will be attributed to you as the author owning copyright of the material.
